Michigan Small Farmer is maintained by Mchelle Regalado Deatrick, a Michigan small farmer. Michelle lives with her husband and children on an 80-acre farm in southeast Michigan, where she keeps a large organic garden and a small but growing fruit and nut orchard.  She is creating, with her family, a 20 acre native prairie surrounded by stands of native trees and timber trees  Her family planned a small livestock facility for eventual commercial production until the recent GAAMPs changes. An activist for the environment and small farm rights, she teaches poetry workshops for the University of Michigan's Lifelong Learning Institute and is a writer.
